Bridge Crane or Forklift?

If you are in an industry that deals with the transportation of goods, you probably have come into contact with a bridge crane or a forklift. Both machines function to aid employees with the day-to-day transport of goods across a warehouse or work-site. Each machine is great for a specific application, but they cannot be used interchangeably.

Bridge Crane:

Bridge cranes are positioned on an elevated runway structure, which spans the length of a factory or warehouse. These overhead cranes provide a three axes hook motion. The girders of the bridge crane allow for precise hook positioning and a gentle load placement. Having an overhead crane helps to mitigate the number of obstruction on the factory floor, which reduces the chance of worker injury and damage to products and goods.
