Lifting Attachments for Overhead Cranes and Hoists

The right lifting attachment for your overhead crane can make a world of difference when it comes to safely and efficiently lifting loads. Cranes and hoists can accommodate different attachments, which means that various hooks can work (as long as it meets the crane's capacity). If the wrong attachment is picked, the lifting device will not be optimally performing.  Pairing improper attachments with loads can potentially lead to dangerous and expensive errors.

When picking the right lifting attachment, you will want to consider three main factors: the weight, the shape, and the size.

When lifting rounded, roll stock, you will need lifting pads that fit the diameter of the load. If the diameter is too big or too small, you run the risk of slippage (potentially resulting in loads falling).

The number one cause of these dangerous conditions is human error. To make correct decisions on machinery, parts, and how to use them, someone must understand equipment and the forces that are acting on it.  We can help train lift operators so that they know they the ins and outs of their machines.  The knowledge gained will help your employees make smarter decisions about using the right gear for a particular job.

Ensuring that lifting attachments are optimized for performance will reduce the need for hoist repair and hoist service. Take care of your machines, and they could potentially last for years.
